Baja Mexico - Help Build Houses in Baja!
EWB UCSB is tentatively planning another Baja home building trip for Veteran's Day weekend November 2008. This trip will be very similar to our Veteran's Day trip in November 2007 where EWB - UCSB sent students to Baja California, Mexico to build a small home for a Mexican family. This project worked in collaboration with a San Diego-based organization that has successfully built 1000s of small homes in Mexico. Families are selected by a Mexican organization on the basis of need. The homes are simply designed and can be constructed within 4 days by a team of 15-20 people with or without construction experience. EWB-UCSB will be recruiting participants in early Fall quarter. This project is not only for current members, all students across campus are encouraged to participate.
